Why Our Blankets Are Woven, Not Printed

Most blankets sold online are printed: a design is pressed onto the surface of a finished blanket. Ours are different. The design is woven into the fabric from the yarn itself, the way a tapestry is made.

What that changes

A woven design cannot crack, peel or fade off the surface, because it is not sitting on the surface. It is the fabric. The blanket also drapes differently, with the weight and texture you expect from a real throw rather than a printed sheet.

Turn it over and you will see the same design in reversed colours. That is not a fault. It is how double-weave fabric works, and it is the clearest sign that a blanket is genuinely woven.

About the colours

Because the colour comes from dyed yarn rather than ink, shades can look slightly softer or deeper than they do on a screen. Fine detail is rendered in thread, so very small elements look a little more rustic than they would in print. Most people find this is exactly what makes the blanket feel like an heirloom.

Sizes

We offer three sizes. The smallest suits a chair or a child's bed, the middle size is the usual choice for a sofa throw, and the largest covers a double bed or works as wall art.

See them all in the blanket collection.
